FAQ
Questions, answered
- Where does the data come from?
- From the Premier League, through the official Fantasy Premier League service that Pulselive runs. Every price, point and minute starts there, and it stays subject to the Premier League’s own terms. The projections, charts and analysis on top of it are mine.
- How often does it update?
- The site pulls everything from FPL once a day: prices, injury flags, points and fixtures. Pages pick up the new numbers within the hour. So an overnight price change is here the same day, but a goal scored this afternoon shows up after the next daily pull, not live.
- What does xP mean?
- Expected points: how many FPL points the model thinks a player will score in a gameweek, given his minutes, his form and how strong both sides are in that fixture. It’s an average, not a forecast of one result: a 6 xP player will often score 2 and sometimes 15. The About page explains the model, and how well it has done.
- Why are some charts empty early in the season?
- The model learns from finished gameweeks, and it needs seven of them before its numbers are worth showing. Its first projection is for gameweek 8, and it appears once gameweek 7 has finished. Until then those charts say so and offer last season instead. They never quietly show last season under this season’s label.
- Why do players have different prices when I look at last season?
- Because a past season shows that season’s price, not today’s. Value (points per £m) divides a season’s points by the closing price he had that season, and the club shown is the one he played for. The Squad Planner is the exception: it’s for buying, so it always uses today’s price.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Nothing here needs one. Your saved plans and your Team ID are kept in your own browser, which means clearing your browser data deletes them for good. To keep a squad, use Share in the Squad Planner and save the link.
- How do I find my Team ID?
Finding your Team ID. On the FPL website or app, open Points or My Team and look at the address bar — the number between
/entry/and/event/is your ID.fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/123456/event/1FPL issues a new Team ID every season, so last season's number will not work — use the one showing now. No password is ever needed: the ID only unlocks public data.
- Is there somewhere to ask questions or suggest things?
- Yes, the Discord server. It’s where people talk through the numbers, ask what a chart means, and tell me what they’d like built next.
- Something looks wrong. How do I tell you?
- Use the feedback form. It comes straight to me, and a wrong number is the feedback I most want.
