FPL prices change once a night. FPL's own data lists the next three cut-offs, and each one is 23:00 UTC, midnight UK time. On 22 September 2026, fifteen players changed price: two rose and thirteen fell.
What moves a price
Net transfers do, measured against how many managers already own the player. A player owned by thousands needs fewer net transfers to move than one owned by millions. FPL has never published the exact threshold.
Can they be predicted?
Partly. FPL added an official price-change predictor for 2026/27, and its public data now carries four price fields for every player:
- A progress percentage. On 22 September it ran from Tzolakis at 96.5 to Maatsen at −102.4.
- An hourly rate showing which way, and how fast, that number is moving.
- A projection for each of the next three cut-offs, each with a likelihood score from −5 to +5.
- A lock time. 23 players were locked on 22 September, some until early October.
FPL doesn't explain these fields where it publishes them, so this reading is ours. The sign gives the direction. ±100 looks like the point of change. As at 22 September, four players were projected past −100 at that night's cut-off, and none past +100.
What we've seen change, day by day

This is a short series with a gap in it. Daily capture began on 10 September and ran cleanly to 15 September. A credential fault broke it from 16 to 20 September, and it resumed on 21 September. The 21 September row is left out. It would compare against 15 September, six days earlier, and overstate a single day's changes.
Falls outnumbered rises on every day but 12 September, by 15 to 23 a day between 13 and 15 September. On 22 September, the first clean day of the international break, the gap was 11. Eight days of data can't yet show whether that's the break or chance.
What that means for you
If you're buying a player about to rise, make the transfer before 23:00 UTC. If you're selling one about to fall, the same applies. Check the player's page for his current price and ownership before you do.
