The Gameweek 10 deadline is Friday 6 November, 18:30 GMT. Gameweek 11's is Saturday 21 November, 11:00 GMT. That's 14.7 days apart, and the Premier League doesn't play for 13 of them.
The short version:
- Information arrives in the break, so move as late as you can. After the September break, 39 of 464 available players had picked up a flag, 15 of them owned by 5% or more.
- Bank free transfers. You can hold up to five (the rules), so a transfer you don't use before the break is still there after it.
- Last time, the break was a Wildcard week. 762,489 managers played a Wildcard in Gameweek 6, the first week back. That was the most of any gameweek.

British Summer Time ends on Sunday 25 October, so every deadline from Gameweek 9 on is in GMT. Deadlines move when fixtures move, so check the date in the app.
The Gameweek 10 matches finish on Sunday 8 November (16:30 kick-off). The next match is on Saturday 21 November. Transfers for Gameweek 11 usually reopen once the last Gameweek 10 match is done, which leaves about twelve days to the Gameweek 11 deadline.
What happened to the flags in the last break?
The September and October breaks merged into one 22-day gap between the Gameweek 5 and Gameweek 6 deadlines. We compared each player's flag on the last snapshot before each deadline.
- 464 players were available at the Gameweek 5 deadline.
- 39 had a flag by the Gameweek 6 deadline (8.4%). 15 were owned by 5% or more and 8 by 10% or more.
- 12 flagged players had cleared.
Those owned by 8% or more:
| Player | Club | Owned at the Gameweek 5 deadline | FPL's chance of playing at the Gameweek 6 deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Palmer | CHE | 26.8% | 75% |
| Isak | LIV | 21.8% | 0% |
| Konsa | ARS | 18.6% | 75% |
| Semenyo | MCI | 15.0% | 75% |
| Tzolis | ARS | 13.8% | 75% |
| Gakpo | LIV | 12.5% | 0% |
| Rice | ARS | 12.5% | 75% |
| O'Reilly | MCI | 11.8% | 75% |
| van Ewijk | COV | 9.6% | 75% |
| Pedro Porro | TOT | 8.3% | 75% |
| Havertz | ARS | 8.2% | 75% |
Players flagged and cleared inside the break aren't counted, so 39 is a floor on how many had news. Erling Haaland is the example the other way: he asked to come off for Norway after 67 minutes on Sunday 4 October, and played 79 minutes in Gameweek 6.
When should you make your Gameweek 11 transfers?
Near the Gameweek 11 deadline, unless a price is about to move. The case for waiting is the table above. The case for moving early is price: FPL prices keep changing every night through a break. On 22 September, fifteen players changed price in the middle of the last one (when prices change).
Weigh them by the player. A £0.1m rise costs you nothing if you hold him already, and a player you're buying who's flagged in the break costs you a transfer.
Should you play a chip in the break?
Our reading is that the Wildcard and the Free Hit make most sense after a break, because they let you rebuild with the news in. We don't have evidence on the Free Hit's best week. What we have is that information arrives in the break, and that a Wildcard played at the Gameweek 11 deadline has more of it than one played at the Gameweek 10 deadline.
The first set of chips expires at the Gameweek 19 deadline, 18:30 GMT on Friday 1 January 2027. The Triple Captain piece has the counts of every chip played so far.
Tell us where this is wrong
- Will you play a chip in the break? Name the chip and the gameweek.
- Tell us when a number looks wrong. This date, this count, here's why. That's the most valuable message we can get.
- Show us your Gameweek 11 draft and why. Build it on the Team Planner, share the link, and name the one pick you'd defend against the model.
Send it through the feedback form for anything specific, or join the Discord if it needs a conversation. Both get read every day.
Next: the Gameweek 7 picks. Until then: Players for every projection, Fixtures for the difficulty grid, Team Planner to build your fifteen, and My Team to score your squad against ours.
